Post-viewing task: The Da Vinci Code

The Da Vinci Code:

$) Brown states on his website that his books are not anti-Christian, though he is on a 'constant spiritual journey' himself, and says that his book The Da Vinci Code is simply "an entertaining story that promotes spiritual discussion and debate" and suggests that the book may be used "as a positive catalyst for introspection and exploration of our faith."

According to Dan Brown this novel "The Da Vinci Code" are not anti-christian through , he is on a 'constant spiritual journey himself, and says that his book. The Da vinci code  is simply "an entertaining story that promotes spiritual discussion and debate" and suggests that the book may be used 'as a positive catalyst for introspection and exploration or our faith. In this not brown depicted as the non believer of priory of Sion, including historical thing that is battle between opus dei and priory of Sion over the possibility of Jesus having been married to Mary Magdalene.

$) You have studied ‘Genesis’ (The Bible), ‘The Paradise Lost’ (John Milton) and ‘The Da Vinci Code’ (Dan Brown). Which of the narrative/s seem/s to be truthful? Whose narrative is convincing to the contemporary young mind?

In Milton Paradise lost this all harms are done to humanity, and in there showing fall is happen in woman character like eve fall is happen and that's why in every cases they blames woman or hate them. In The Da vinci Code one damage is shown for human kind is that at the end when Robert Langdon also becomes blind follower of chritianity, and at the end of Robert found that holy grail means sarcophgus of mary Magdalene he knees down to that sarcophagus of Mary Magdalene.

$) What difference do you see in the portrayal of 'Ophelia' (Kate Winslet) in Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet, 'Elizabeth' (Helena Bonham Carter) in Kenneth Branagh's Mary Shelley's Frankenstein or 'Hester Prynne' (Demi Moore) in Roland Joffé's The Scarlet Letter' or David Yates's 'Harmione Granger' (Emma Watson) in last four Harry Potter films - and 'Sophie Neuve' (Audrey Tautau) in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code? How would justify your answer?

Kenneth Branagh sexually objected Kate Winset by taking liberty with Ophelia's portrayal and showed her nude which we do not find in Shakespeare's Hamlet. Ron maintained sacredness in Sophie's portrayal  in movie and thus, even if Dan's Sophie is kissed on lips, he do not show those scenes in movie. Kenneth Branagh in Frankenstein also, takes liberty with portrayal of Elizabeth on screen, whereas Ron Howard, remained faithful to the central theme of feminine sacredness in Sophie's portrayal.

$) When we do traditional reading of the novel ‘The Da Vinci Code’, Robert Langdon, Professor of Religious Symbology, Harvard University emerges as protagonist and Sir Leigh Teabing, a British Historian as antagonist. Who will claim the position of protagonist if we do atheist reading of the novel?

When we do traditional reading of the novel 'The DA Vinci Code', Robert Langdon, Profecer of religious symbology, Harvard University emerges as protagonist and sir Leigh Teabing, a British historian as antagonist. Teabing will claim the position of protagonist if we do atheist reading of the novel.

$) Explain Ann Gray’s three propositions on ‘knowability’ with       illustrations from the novel ‘The Da Vinci Code’.

       1) Identifying what is knowable
   2) identifying and acknowledging the relationship of the                        knower and the known
      3) What is the procedure for ‘knowing’?

In this novel this sentence "I dont know what I dont know" is reflecting here, even character of Sophia for her also kind of self know that she is descendant of Jesus and also Robert langdon quest for knowing is also presented here so idea of 'knowability' a vital role here.

Interaction with Dr. Jay Mehta on Mass media

On 15th January , we have guest lecture of Dr. Jay Mehta on Mass media and communication. Again we got the chance to attend the lecture of Jay sir. The lecture was on mass media and communication.

There are six major sources of Mass Media:-

                  - Radio
                        - Television
                        - Cinema
                        - Advertisement
                        - Newspaper
                        - Digital Media.

Media is one strong pillar of Indian constitution. If we talk about today so, media becomes so glamourous. Advertisement is one part of mass media. It deals with language and human psychology. In most of the adds they focuses on the language that can we attract people towards our products.

The White Tiger and Slumdog millionaire: Thinking Activity

Similarity between the white tiger and Slumdog millionaire.

"The White Tiger" and Danny Boyle's movie "Slumdog Millionaire" are uncanny: they are both set in the current day India with it's booming economy; both have a poor young Indian male as the protagonist who becomes incredibly rich in record time and in the most unique way imaginable; both reveal the class based ethos of India in a nonchalant narrative of two incredible storylines.

Obviously, both of the stories take place in India. They are both victims of the poor societal system in India; Jamal being tortured and Balram being treated like a slave in the family he works for.  A difference that I noticed was that the goals and dreams of the two boys were always different. In The White Tiger Balram dreamt all his life of becoming something successful and making something of himself. Jamal, on the other hand, lived his life focusing on finding the love of his life – Latika. He applied to be on the show be cause he was hoping that Latika would be watching him in the show – not to win the money.

Interaction with French Professors

#Interaction with French Professors
#At Department of English, MKBU.
#Thanks to Professor Kishore Joshi, From Department of Economics, MKBU.

Surprisingly, Prof. Saeed Paivandi and Prof. Fontanini Christine (From University of Lorraine, France.) visits Dept. Of English. In the beginning of their talk, they says that we prefer two way talk. Which shows the quality of an interaction.

They talked about the culture, educational Universities, economical situations, various educational streams. I get information that Prof. Saeed was not the citizen of France but he was gone for the learning of French language. He also talked on some issues.

Overall it was an interesting session to attend. Thanks to Dr Dilip Barad Sir for inviting them at Department of English.

Why is it necessary to use Technology in Education? (One reason. You can give more than one)

Technology is very important in education to create new and innovative practical syllabus, improve the security of students, students data management and analysis and performance reporting and teachers training programs.

Use of technology in education increased the level of accuracy in educational materials to a higher standard. Uses of new technologies are expanding. New computer programs and mobile apps are all playing their role to solve daily life problems.

For example, if students or teachers are writing notes on Microsoft Word program then the spelling and grammatical mistakes (red & green underlines) can be found easily. So, the level of accuracy is very high when we learn on computers or when we teach students by presentation or animations and data visualization.

What is the difference between 'using' and 'integrating' technology? How can we integrate technology?

'Using' and 'Integrate' both are very similar but they have big difference. According to dictionary 'using' , ' the act or practice of employing something for particular purpose.' and 'Integrate' means ' to combine to form or create something.' Using Technology means teacher Use technology for teaching making a blog website presentation application form etc. Adjust for helping for teaching it call to using where integrate means both are used Technology. It's a two way of using Technology like online task online quiz making a Portfolio making a block using an inspiring it calls integrate. Teacher and learner both are using Technology in same way.

Can technology replace teacher?

Teacher and technology both are significant in the process of teaching and learning. Technology is better for leaning in new style, it gives you information but don't guide like teacher.Teacher connect the dots with current situation and explain it. Thus Technology can't replace teacher.
